As so many of us in recovery have learnt, getting clean and sober is only the first step. The hard part is staying clean and sober. When facing the prospect of leaving the comfort and safety of a treatment facility, the idea of re-entering the outside world can be very scary. Often, when coming into recovery, we have had to leave behind a career, we have alienated family and friends, we have possibly even lost a roof over our heads. Starting again... Facing the rebuilding of our lives... Can be highly anxiety provoking and overwhelming. This is a common experience among us who are new to recovery.

Phoenix Place is a safe, sober living house that helps people in early recovery to bridge the gap between initial rehabilitation and life as healthy, productive members of society. We embrace the philosophy of reintegration and help our tenants to learn how to take responsibility for themselves by offering more than just a sober room to rent.

We have learnt that healthy routines are as important in maintaining sobriety as building a life worth staying sober for. The management of Phoenix Place is committed to following the 12 Step Program and is serious about living in recovery - after all, it saved our lives!
We understand the crucial importance of taking responsibility for our recoveries by: working a 12 step program, reaching out to offer and receive help, and living a well-balanced life.

This is the foundation of our new lives. Through the support of others and by working a committed program our lives have turned around in a way that can only be described as miraculous.

After going to get clean at rehab I came to Phoenix Place which came reccomended highly to me by a top psychiatrist in the addictions field. To be honest with you I was expecting the inevitability of me using again and already had plans to do so...I didn't think recovery was either possible or necessarily something I wanted. I came to the realisation after throwing myself into the suggested things at Phoenix Place that not only was recovery possible but something that I wanted. I began to work the steps as suggested and my life and look on life started to miraculously change. I can proudly say that I am in recovery now and have just celebrated a year clean for the first time ever. I am beyond grateful to have come to Phoenix Place and could not reccomend it more to anyone considering coming.

"I moved into Phoenix Place after completing an outpatient rehab program. Although I'd gotten clean my life was still unmanageable and to be honest just plain broken. Nothing made sense, nothing was working. Relapsed. Phoenix Place has been a safe space to heal and rebuild my foundations. The home is filled with energy and hope and the focus on the 12 Steps and connecting me with my Higher Power has honestly been the greatest gift I've ever received. I've also received a holistic view of how to function in daily life and am proud of the man I'm growing to be. All thanks to Phoenix Place."

"Before coming to Phoenix Place I was definitely an addict of the hopeless variety and after being through treatment centers and multiple institutions I decided to try the sober living approach to help in my recovery and assist me on my journey. At Phoenix Place I have learnt valuable skills which are a very important part of the foundation I call my recovery. From the start I felt welcomed and part of a family where I have made bonds that will last a life time. With the help of Henry Martin and his guidance, who doesn't just teach recovery he lives it, I have seen that a life in recovery is definitely worth fighting for. I will be forever grateful to Phoenix Place and Henry who have literally saved my life."
